This is a simple record with no frills or pretentious aspects about it at all. For your money you will get fourteen full on rollicking bar-room Blues and do you know what? It is all the stronger for this approach. I had this blasting out of my car stereo as I was driving back from a gig recently and it was just fun and great company on the road. The thing about this album is that the pace of the tracks are for the most part up-tempo, so you find the feet tapping and fingers popping and yes the old head bobbing along to the rhythms. I wanted to dance, which is never a pretty sight when behind the wheel, but seriously were you to be watching this band there is no way you would be sitting down. 'You're Humbuggin Me', 'Louisiana 12 Bar', 'Learn To Treat me Right' and the ubiquitous 'Ready Willing And Able' are just a few of the crackers that move this record along. The sleevenotes let you know that these guys have a lot of mileage under their belts in the world of rocking Blues. The pace drops occasionally on the likes of 'My Heart Is Always Missing You' to let you catch a welcome breath before the band kicks in again. This is terrific fun-filled stuff.
