Now in my late sixties and still dodging the coffin,i have been watching bands and musicians for over fifty years, Seeing the BluesBlasters for the first time a few years ago just blew me away and they have never failed to do so ever since, i will not bang on about how good all the musicians are that is plain to see. What sets this band apart is their ability to entertain and get the audience involved in the music so everyone has a great time. If you haven't seen this band give yourself a treat and go and see them. Went to see them and Norman Beaker at 'The Bakers Vaults' on 16th June 2012, that was a really special night. You make the 80 mile round trip really worthwhile. Thanks Lads. Ken
The Blues Blasters at the Welcome Inn Whitefield
This 6 piece band immediately got people’s feet tappin with their rockin rhythm and blues when they took to the floor at the Welcome Inn. Playing a mixture of self penned tunes and cover’s the tempo never let up along with the camaraderie between band members and audience . Red Red Eyes a Chris Gee tune tells the tale of a woman sadly the worse for wear from too much alcohol which is always a good bet in a pub. Keyboard player ‘The Professor ‘ has recently toured with the legendary Chuck Berry and homage was paid with the playing of one of his tunes ‘You never can tell’ which gave The Professor time to demonstrate his skills. Next up saw the slide guitar skills of John Brett as the band rocked along with Mercury blues, followed by ‘The House is Rockin ‘ a Stevie Ray Vaughan tune which also got the place jumpin. The evening ended with a slower number as the band members left the floor one by one to the appreciation of the crowd, if you like rockin R n B then go and see these guys ……you wont be disappointed.
